Quelques heures après la défaite “humiliante” subie face aux Cranes de l’Ouganda, les Léopards de la RD-Congo ont tenu à s’excuser auprès des autorités mais aussi et surtout auprès du peuple RD-congolais.. C’est “avec toute sincérité et la main sur le cœur” que le capitaine Youssouf Mulumbu a pris la parole au nom de tout le groupe. “Je viens vers vous pour présenter mes excuses. Ces excuses s’adressent aux autorités et au peuple RD-Congolais” a dit Youssouf Mulumbu dans une vidéo diffusée par la FECOFA. Pour le capitaine, absent lors de la désillusion de ce samedi 22 juin, cette défaite est “une bonne leçon”. “Il y a encore deux matchs et nous avons besoin de soutien. Nous allons rectifier le tir” a-t-il promis.

Complétant Mulumbu, le vice-capitaine Chancel Mbemba a demandé au peuple RD-congolais de ne pas les abandonner. “Votre soutien nous sera très utile pour la suite. Rien n’est encore perdu. C’est douloureux mais nous nous en excusons”, a plaidé Mbemba.

Pour rappel, la RD-Congo affronte l’Egypte ce mercredi 26 juin au Stade international du Caire pour la 2ème journée, un match à ne pas perdre si les Léopards espèrent traverser le mois de Juin.
